About Me

My background

Born and raised in Gastonia, I am a dedicated community member with a deep understanding of our county's court system. I attended Cramerton Christian Academy from kindergarten through graduation and later played baseball at Limestone College, an experience that taught me the value of teamwork and discipline. My wife, Allison, and I have been married since 2011 and are proud to be raising our 10-year-old son, Lincoln, in this community we love. Our family also includes Tucker, our 13-year-old Westie terrier. In my off time, I enjoy playing golf and spending quality time with my family.

My family has a long history of public service in Gaston County. My great-grandfather, Lawrence Brown, served as the Mayor of Belmont. My great-uncle, Joe Brown, was the District Attorney, and my great-aunt, Joyce Brown, served as a District Court Judge. Continuing that tradition, my father, Larry Brown, held the position of Clerk of Court from 2006 to 2020.

With over 13 years of experience as a Magistrate Judge, I have developed extensive knowledge of the North Carolina court process. My background has equipped me with a profound understanding of legal procedures. I am also highly familiar with the state's new eCourts program, ensuring I am prepared to lead our office into a more efficient, modern, and accessible future.

I am committed to making a positive impact on the lives of my fellow Gaston County citizens. My experience gives me the judicial and administrative expertise necessary to ensure the Clerk of Courts office operates with integrity, fairness, and transparency for everyone it serves. My vision is to uphold the highest standards of public service, improve access to justice, and continue to provide a court system the citizens of Gaston County can be proud of.
